Jamshedpur FC’s Heeranganba Seram joins India U17 camp in Goa ahead of AFC Asian Cup

Jamshedpur, January 12: Jamshedpur FC forward Heeranganba Seram has joined the India U17 men’s national team camp in Goa as preparations begin for the AFC U17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026, scheduled to kick off from May 7, 2026.

Seram’s inclusion in the preparatory camp comes on the back of a strong international and domestic season. The 16-year-old was an integral part of India’s successful AFC U17 Asian Cup Qualifiers campaign, starting all four matches and playing close to 270 minutes. His standout contribution came in the decisive group match against Iran, where he earned a crucial penalty that helped India stage a comeback and secure qualification for the continental tournament.

Following national duty, Seram returned to Jamshedpur FC’s U18 side and continued his impressive run of form. In the AIFF Elite League, the young forward scored a vital goal against Inter Kashi, sealing a crucial draw for JFC in a tightly contested encounter. He carried that momentum into the Reliance Foundation Development League (RFDL), where he enjoyed a prolific outing, netting nine goals in just five matches to play a key role in the team’s attacking output.

Now back in national colours, Seram will look to build on those experiences as India step up their preparations for the AFC U17 Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia.
