Jamshedpur FC Youth crowned champions of JSA League A Division

Jamshedpur, Aug 23: The much-anticipated JSA League A Division final between Jamshedpur FC Youth and Classic Eight unfolded in dramatic fashion at Sumant Moolgaokar Stadium, Telco, where Jamshedpur FC Youth secured a 2-0 victory to claim the championship.

The first half of the match was a showcase of high-quality football, with both teams demonstrating their attacking prowess and defensive resilience. Despite numerous attempts from both sides, the deadlock remained unbroken, with neither team able to find the back of the net. The match remained evenly poised as the first half ended goalless, setting the stage for a thrilling second half.

As the second half commenced, Jamshedpur FC Youth began to gain the upper hand. Their persistence paid off in the 55th minute when Shagolsem Rashithoi broke the deadlock with a crucial goal. After multiple attempts to breach Classic Eight’s defense, Rashithoi’s strike finally gave Jamshedpur FC Youth the lead, igniting celebrations among their supporters.

Classic Eight, now trailing, intensified their efforts to equalize. However, Jamshedpur FC Youth’s defense held firm, denying Classic Eight any clear opportunities. As the clock ticked down, the pressure mounted on Classic Eight, but they were unable to break through.

In the 81st minute, Lawmsangzuala delivered the decisive blow for Jamshedpur FC Youth, scoring a second goal that effectively sealed their victory. This goal not only secured the win but also dashed any hopes of a Classic Eight comeback. Jamshedpur FC Youth’s 2-0 victory crowned them the champions of the JSA League A Division, capping off an impressive campaign.

Despite the loss, Classic Eight earned the title of runners-up after a commendable performance throughout the tournament. In recognition of their sportsmanship, Chotanagpur Football Club was awarded the S Zubair Alam Memorial Trophy for Fair Play.

Individual accolades were also presented during the post-match ceremony. Jaipal Singh Sirka of Classic Eight received the P Vijay Kumar Memorial Trophy for being the highest goalscorer of the tournament, while Jay Singh Soren, also of Classic Eight, was awarded the Ramesh Mehta Memorial Trophy for Best Goalkeeper.

The award ceremony was graced by the presence of Chief Guest V. Ramakrishna, Secretary of JSA, and Guest of Honour Vivek Prasad, Sports Officer of Tata Motors, who presented the trophies and medals to the deserving teams and players. The final marked a fitting conclusion to the JSA League A Division season, celebrating the talent and dedication of the participating teams and setting the stage for future competitions.
