Jamshedpur FC pumped up for North East United clash

Jamshedpur, Feb 6: Jamshedpur Football Club players are back on the training ground. The squad headed by coach Steve Coppell on Tuesday sweated it out at the TFA ground ahead of the big clash against North East United at JRD Tata Sports Complex on February 10.

The Indian Super league debutants will be looking to continue the winning momentum to achieve a top four finish before the league round concludes. The team looks pumped up and will be looking to score three points against the John Abraham owned side. JFC players indulged in rigorous training on Tuesday morning. The team arrived back in Jamshedpur from Mumbai on February 5, after their 2-1 win against Mumbai City FC on February 1.

The home ground of JFC has been special with record turnouts and the February 10 match against the NorthEast United FC might again prove a house full as Rs 50 tickets are almost sold out five days prior to the match. Other denomination tickets are being sold from the counters at the Stadium in Bistupur and online at

JFC defender Andre Bikey talking to on Tuesday said, we must now win every game from here on. The momentum is with us and we must keep it going. We need to go out there, score goals and win games. We have reached a stage where we cannot afford to drop points anymore.

Bikey will be facing his former side on February 10 and terms the encounter as special. He said that this time the contest is totally different. We want to make it to the top four desperately. Northeast United FC will be close to my heart but in football, we must be professional. I now play for Jamshedpur FC and I want to perform well for my current side. It is going to be a good game as they are coming into this fixture on the back of a hard-fought draw against FC Goa. They will be high on morale. However, we will keep working hard and try and get those three points and stay in the race, he added.

Later, during the training session, Sunil Bhaskaran, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel, and Ritu Raj Sinha, Chief, Corporate Services, Tata Steel visited the training ground and had a chat with the head coach Steve Coppell.
