Jamshedpur FC fans disappointed after another uninspiring outing

Jamshedpur, Dec. 1: Jamshedpur FC fans were upset after their team was held to a goalless draw by North East United FC in their tenth match of the Indian Super League (ISL) 5 at JRD Tata Sports Complex on Saturday.

As many as 21,847 fans gathered to support the home side at the ‘furnace’ but it turned out to be a rather cagey contest. There wasn’t much which happened and it was just one shot on target in the entire game. Just one.

Local lad Mobashir got a chance in the 70th minute. The youngster tried a half-volley from a distance but it flew wide of the net only to land on top of it.
JFC extended an unbeaten run at the Furnace after a gritty goalless draw against the Highlanders.

NorthEast United FC, who is still undefeated away from home, go one place above FC Goa, while Jamshedpur FC maintain its 4th position.

“We were expecting a hat-trick of wins for Jamshedpur FC at the JRD Tata Sports Complex but North East is a very good side and didnít allow the home team to dominate,” said Rachel Shah watching the match from North West lower stand.

Rajveer Bhatia, a std 5 student of Loyola School and a die-hard JFC fan who arrived at the stadium an hour before the start of the match, was frustrated on two counts — first because of the draw and next, he didnít get the ticket for his favourite stand. “I like Tiri a lot but Jamshedpur should have won the match today,” said Rajveer.

The stadium was almost full as it has been in most of JFC’s home matches. Fans in Jamshedpur FC jersey and headgears were in attendance since an hour before the match.

“It was a tight game but JFC should move ahead and focus on the Kerala game,” said Pratap Kumar, a college student.

After the match, Jamshedpur FC Captain Tiri’s warm gesture made everyone’s day at the Furnace, especially for Namrita Mukhi, a die-hard fan of JFC.

Wheelchair bound Namrita Mukhi said, “It was my dream to meet our captain and I thank Jamshedpur FC for providing me this opportunity to meet the Spaniard”.
