Jamshedpur FC extends Goan speedster Vincy Barretto’s contract

Jamshedpur, October 10: After a promising spell for Jamshedpur FC during the Durand Cup, 25-year-old Goan winger Vincy Barretto has extended his contract with the Men of Steel for the season.

Known for his blistering pace and fearless attacking runs, Vincy’s performances over the past two months impressed both fans and the coaching staff, earning him a longer stay with the Men of Steel.

During the Durand Cup, Vincy registered two assists and a goal, consistently troubling opposition defences with his speed and ability to stretch play on both flanks. His dynamic presence added energy and unpredictability to Jamshedpur’s attack, marking him as one of the standout performers in the tournament.

Before joining Jamshedpur FC, Vincy enjoyed stints with some of India’s top clubs. He played a key role in Gokulam Kerala FC’s maiden I-League triumph in 2020–21, followed by two successful ISL spells,  first with Kerala Blasters, where he made 17 appearances and scored 2 goals en route to a runner-up finish in 2021–22, and later with Chennaiyin FC, where he featured 52 times in the ISL, scoring 5 goals between 2022 and 2025.

Reflecting on his extension, Vincy Barretto said, “I’m really happy to continue my journey with Jamshedpur FC. The last two months have been special, the support from the fans, the energy within the squad, and the trust shown by the coach have all motivated me. I am eager to keep improving, contribute with goals and assists, and give my all for the club.”

Head Coach Steven Dias expressed his delight at retaining the winger, saying. “Vincy brings great pace, energy, and work rate to the team. His ability to take on defenders and create chances gives us a real edge in attack. He has adapted well to our system, and I’m confident he will play an important role for us in the upcoming season.”

With his contract extension, Vincy Barretto becomes an integral part of Jamshedpur FC’s attacking setup as the club gears up for the 2025–26 season and the Super Cup campaign ahead.
