Jamshedpur FC boys start practice under Coach Cooper’s Hawkeyes

 

Jamshedpur, Aug 7: Jamshedpur FC has commenced its pre-season preparations for the upcoming Indian Super League (ISL) 2023-24 season under the guidance of Head Coach Scott Cooper. The team is gearing up for the start of the league at their home ground in Jamshedpur.

Head Coach Scott Cooper has strengthened the squad with several new signings, aiming to acclimatize them to the team’s playing style. Alongside Assistant Coaches Kiza Ramadani, Noel Wilson, and Goalkeeping Coach Dragan Draskovic, Cooper is determined to lead the team to success.

The refreshed squad features a mix of foreign talents, including Alen Stevanovic, Rei Tachikawa, Jeremy Manzorro, Elsinho, and Petar Sliskovic, along with Indian players Wungngayam Muirang, Provat Lakra, and Imran Khan.

Cooper emphasized that the pre-season has been meticulously planned with a periodisation approach. “Pre-season has been carefully constructed with a periodisation plan,” said Head Coach Scoot Cooper.  “A lot of player and staff meetings have taken place to get us all on the same page and week by week we will start leveling up the team in order to get us ready for the first game once the season begins.”

 

Jamshedpur FC also takes pride in nurturing young talents from its Youth teams and the renowned Tata Football Academy (TFA). Players like Phijam Vikash Singh, Vishal Yadav, Nikhil Barla, and Telem Saphaba Singh have made their way to the first team from these youth development programs.

As part of their pre-season preparations, Jamshedpur FC is scheduled to play 6-8 friendly matches against teams like Gokulam Kerala, Punjab FC, NorthEast United, and others. The team will also travel to Hyderabad for two friendlies against Sreenidhi Deccan and Bengaluru FC.

The ISL campaign is expected to kick off in the third week of September this year, featuring a longer season due to the inclusion of another team.

Midfielders – Imran Khan, Komal Thatal, Jeremy Manzorro, Seiminlen Doungel, Ritwik Kumar Das, Alen Stevanovic, Jitendra Singh, Rei Tachikawa, Phijam Vikash Singh, Pronay Halder, Germanpreet Singh

Forwards – Petar Sliskovic, Daniel Chima Chukwu
