Jamshedpur FC aim to keep winning momentum against winless Odisha FC

Bhubaneswar, September 27: Buoyed by an impressive start of the season, Jamshedpur FC is all set to take on Odisha FC in an exciting Indian Super League match at Kalinga Stadium here on Saturday.

The Men of Steel have defeated FC Goa and Mumbai City FC in the two matches they played and will be up against Kalinga Warriors with renewed momentum. Meanwhile Odisha FC have lost their first two matches and will be trying to turn the fortunes.

“It will not be an easy match. They have a good team and an experienced coach. We have to be alert and make sure there is no complacency,” said Jamshedpur FC Head Coach Khalid Jamil.

Jamshedpur FC have an advantage in the head-to-head encounters against Odisha FC with 8 wins in 14 matches. Odisha were able to beat Jamshedpur only four times so far. “We should think about only next match. Every match is different and we need to work hard every time to make sure that we get full points,” said Khalid Jamil.

The team has shown remarkable resilience, staging comeback victories against FC Goa and Mumbai FC after conceding early goals. The foreigner duo, Jordan Murray and Javi Hernandez, have combined well so far for the Men of Steel.

Also, Imran Khan, Sourav Das, and Ashustosh Mehta also have been impressive. With Stephen Eze in the defence and Albino Gomez at the post, Jamshedpur has become a formidable team so far this season.

Jamshedpur FC will have to ward off threats from Odisha FC experienced striking duo Roy Krishna and Diego Mauricio.

And with a well-experienced coach like Sergio Lobera at the helms, Odisha will be trying to turnaround their initial setbacks.

“They are wounded tigers and they will come with all force in their den. To win the match we need to work hard and as a team. We need to attack and defend as a team. It will be a tough match for us,” said defender Wungngayam Muirang about the match.
