Jamshedpur farmers reap benefits under Krishonnati Yojana Subsidy Programs

Jamshedpur: Dr. Man Singh, Director of the Rice Development Directorate, Government of India, visited Baghra village in Kuiyani Panchayat, Bodam Block, to inspect the progress of mustard cultivation under the Food and Nutrition Security Krishonnati Yojana. Accompanied by Technical Assistant Suraj Singh, Dr. Singh reviewed the distribution of mustard seeds provided to farmers on a 100% subsidy through ATMA (Agricultural Technology Management Agency).

A total of 81 farmers in Baghra have cultivated mustard, with 20 hectares of land identified as a demonstration cluster. The initiative aims to promote modern agricultural techniques and ensure food and nutritional security.

During the visit, Dr. Singh interacted with farmers, emphasizing the importance of seed treatment before sowing to reduce weed and pest infestations. He highlighted how scientific farming practices, supported by ATMA extension workers, are driving better yields.

In Paharpur Panchayat, farmer Dalgovind Singh received a tractor-driven rotavator on a 50% subsidy. Dr. Singh personally inquired about the scheme’s implementation and subsidy benefits. Expressing his satisfaction, Singh shared his appreciation for the equipment’s timely availability, which has enhanced his farming efficiency.

The inspection also extended to Bonta village in Bonta Panchayat, where farmers have similarly adopted mustard cultivation under the Krishonnati Yojana. Deputy Project Director of ATMA, Geeta Kumari, informed that in addition to seeds, other agricultural inputs were provided to farmers at no cost. These resources, coupled with technical guidance from extension workers, have empowered farmers to implement best practices effectively.  Dr. Singh lauded the efforts of the ATMA team and urged farmers to continue leveraging government schemes for sustainable agricultural development.
