Jamshedpur faces liquor shortage, hotel and restaurant association expresses concern

Jamshedpur, Dec 5: Due to non-availability of liquor stock as per the demand, hotel and bar operators are in trouble. The present situation is that hotel and bar operators are not able to get stock as per their requirements, due to which they are facing several problems. Realizing the seriousness of the situation, Jamshedpur Hotel and Restaurant Association (JHRA) has raised its voice in this regard.
According to the association, there has been a decrease in the stock of liquor in all the hotels and bars of Jamshedpur. The condition is that there is a huge shortage of whiskey, vodka as well as beer in the shops. Many bars are also on the verge of closure. Some brands of whiskey are also being found in shops and bars, but in this cold season, the huge shortage of wine-whiskey has broken the back of shopkeepers as well as bar operators. Before this, due to Covid too, hotel and bar owners also faced recession. Now the situation is improving but lack of stock has become a problem.

There is a huge demand for whiskey this season. But due to the non-availability of stock, it has become difficult for them to run the business. According to the association, due to this, there is a huge decrease in the revenue of the government.

Whiskey and beer drinkers are not able to find the brand of their choice. It was hoped that the situation would improve after the implementation of the new system, but the current situation has become worse than before.

Officials of the Jamshedpur Hotel and Restaurant Association (JHRA) said that hotels and bars have been tagged with shops to receive the goods. Now bar and hotel operators have to pick up the goods from the same shop from which they have been tagged. However, this is not the problem, the bigger issue is how the goods will reach the bars and hotels when there is no stock of whiskey and beer in the shops. The association has demanded that some concrete steps should be taken in this direction soon.
