Jamshedpur, June 17: Jamshedpur Eye Hospital today inaugurated the �Glaucoma India Education Programme�. Ruchi Narendran graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Dr Rajan Choudhry, GM, Medical, Services was the Guest of Honor.
Glaucoma Society of India regularly conducts the training programme to keep the knowledge of the Ophthalmologists updated, related to the newer diagnostic technologies & recent advancement in the treatment of Glaucoma under its Glaucoma India Education Programme. Training is conducted at different higher eye care centers of the country periodically.
Glaucoma is one of the leading cause of global irreversible blindness. It is estimated that 60.5 million people are effected worldwide. It has no cure but early diagnosis & treatment can prevent its progression.
Continuing medical education (CME) will have different sessions. Hands on training- to learn different clinical methods & understanding role of newer diagnostic tool (3 D – OCT, Humphry�s Visual Field ) for detection & progression of Glaucoma. Scientific Lectures by Experts � Lectures to be given by local & guest faculty. Surgical Management and Case Discussion on difficult cases.
Faculty Dr Nitin G Dhira, Dr R B Singh, Dr Poonam Singh, Dr Vijaya Jojo, Dr Vivek Kedia, along with the guest faculty Dr Manish Singh and Dr Sagar Bhargava will conduct the training programme. Programme will be attended by Postgraduate students from RIMS, Ophthalmologists from Jamshedpur & Jharkhand.
JEH keeps conducting CMEs under the �JEH CME Series� every year with the aim to promote further studies, research and training in the field of Eye Care. This training update is one of them. On July 18, 2018, JEH will be conducting a Surgical workshop. The workshop will showcase the surgical technique of newer IOL implantation, benefitting the patients with least morbidity & early rehabilitation.
