Jamshedpur, Nov 8: Acting on the instruction of the Assistant Commissioner of Excise, a departmental team raided illegal hooch dens and illegally held India Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) stocks at several places including Chhayanagar under Sitaramdera PS, Roopnagar under Sonari PS and Line Tola in Karandih under Parsudih police station.
During the raids, two illegal liquor sellers were arrested and sent to jail while one was absconding against whom a case was registered. About 100 liters of Mahua liquor were seized from the spot.
The Excise team raided Hitku under Sundernagar PS and seized illegal foreign liquor during which one person was arrested. Another illegal liquor vendor was arrested from Ranidih-Matladih under Bagbera police station while two managed to escape. An absconding case has been registered against the two. The raids yielded 100 liters of Mahua brew and 924 liters of IMFL of assorted brands packed in 104 cartons.
