Jamshedpur, Nov 29: East Singhbhum district transport officer (DTO) Dinesh Ranjan launched a heavy vehicle checking drive on Tuesday. As many as five heavy vehicles were confiscated for violation of MV Act. A sum of Rs 2 lakh was imposed on the owners of the vehicles.
The DTO said the heavy vehicle drivers have been warned against parking their vehicles on roadsides to prevent road accidents. Heavy fines would be imposed on violators of road safety, he said.
