Jamshedpur, Nov 29 : India Post has announced the ‘Dhai Akhar’ National Letter Writing Competition for 2025–26, aimed at promoting the art of handwriting and emotional expression in the digital age.

Participants will get an opportunity to win prizes up to Rs 50,000.
This year’s theme is “Letter to My Role Model.” The last date for posting entries is December 8, and letters mailed after this deadline will not be accepted.
The competition will be held in two age categories — below 18 years and 18 years & above — across two formats: Inland Letter Card (ILC) and A-4 envelope.
At the state level, prizes of Rs 25,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 will be awarded, while at the national level, winners will receive Rs 50,000, Rs 25,000 and Rs 10,000.
Letters must be handwritten in Hindi, English, or any regional language.
The word limit is 500 words for ILC and 1,000 words for the A-4 envelope category.
Entries must be addressed to the Chief Postmaster General of the respective state.
The Postal Department aims to encourage young people to rediscover the warmth, creativity, and personal touch of handwritten communication amid the clutter of the digital world.
