Jamshedpur: Devotees perform rituals to celebrate Vat Savitri Puja

Jamshedpur: In a ceremony filled with devotion and religious fervor, devotees gathered today to celebrate Vat Savitri Puja, an auspicious Hindu festival observed to honor the sacred banyan tree. The event, which took place at Sakchi,Bistupur and Jugsalai attracted thousands of participants who engaged in various rituals and prayers to seek the blessings of Goddess Savitri, the epitome of marital bliss and longevity.

The Vat Savitri Puja, also known as Vat Purnima or Vat Savitri Vrat, is celebrated on the full moon day of the Hindu month of Jyeshtha (May-June). It is primarily observed by married women who pray for the well-being and long life of their husbands.
