Jamshedpur: Decline in Covid-19 cases, deaths continue

Jamshedpur, Jan 23: Jamshedpur on Sunday continued to record COVID-19 recoveries outnumbering the new infections with 224 people contracting the contagion and pushing the overall caseload to 66,016.

COVID-related fatalities remained high with 4 people succumbing to the virus in the last 24 hours taking the toll to 1120 till date, the health bulletin said.

According to East Singhbhum Covid-19 medical bulletin, as many as 776 people have walked out of healthcare facilities aggregating 61686 and leaving 3210 active infections.

The number of samples tested today was at 5848 pushing the cumulative number of specimens examined so far to 2186450 till date.

Jamshedpur’s positivity rate – the number of people testing positive for every 100 tests – was 3.83 percent with the latest addition in cases. 5848 samples were tested on Sunday.

Telco area of Steel City reported the maximum 36 cases on Sunday.  

The positivity rate came down to 3.02 per cent in Jamshedpur.

The cumulative coronavirus case count stands at 66016 and the death count is now 1120, according to the latest health bulletin.

5848 COVID-19 tests, including 953 RT-PCR, 4598 RAT and 297 TrueNat were conducted in the last 24 hours in the city.

East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 821356 test per million in the district. The recovery rate in Jamshedpur is 93.76% while the mortality rate is 1.70%.

So far in Jamshedpur 2193608 samples have been collected out of which 2186450 have been tested and 2120434 have turned out to be negative.
