Jamshedpur, June 18: East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner, Suraj Kumar visited Kapali Slum Colony in Sonari and inspected the locality while taking into account prevailing problems. The residents complained about drainage problems and the DC directed the JNAC Special Officer to get the drains cleaned forthwith.
DC Suraj Kumar urged the residents of the Slum Colony to keep their surroundings clean especially because with monsoon, Vector related diseases posed health hazards that could be prevented if places around their homes were clean. He also met Sangita patel in the colony. Her husband had died of COVID infection. He enquired about the wellbeing of the family members and directed officials concerned to provide financial cover to the family under related government schemes.
Those who accompanied the Deputy Commissioner during the inspection included DDC Parmeshwar Bhagat, District Project Officer Ajay Kumar, District Community Welfare Officer satya Thakur, Assistant Director of Social Security Amrendra Kumar and District Child Protection Officer Dr Chanchal Kumari.
