Jamshedpur DC sends report against DMO, MI to state headquarter, alleges involvement in illegal mining

Jamshedpur, June 15: East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav has sent a report against district mining officer (DMO) Sanjay Kumar Mishra to the state headquarters. 

The Deputy Commissioner has expressed displeasure over the disappearance of the (DMO) from the district headquarters without any information and keeping his mobile phone switched off. Even the mining inspector Subodh Kumar Singh has gone from the headquarter without information. 

 The mobiles of both the officials are also switched off. The senior officials of the district have not received any information regarding their absence in the district. In the past also, clarification has been made in view of the activities of both the officials. Even at present, in view of their irresponsible acts, their activities are being reported to the State Headquarters.

It is to be known that Mining Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh is posted in Khunti, while he is in additional charge of East Singhbhum district. Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav had sent a notice to District Mining Officer Sanjay Kumar Sharma on June 8, asking him to give an explanation on the allegation of his involvement in illegal mining. The Mining Officer had sent a reply to the Deputy Commissioner, but the reply was not satisfactory.

In this notice, the Deputy Commissioner had said that in all the cases that have been caught so far in illegal mining, in which the FIR has not been filed which indicates his involvement. 

The Deputy Commissioner said that on June 8, the Sub-Divisional Officer, Dhalbhum Sandeep Kumar conducted surprise raids from Meena Hata to Jadugoda regarding illegal mining. The SDO had caught about 10 trucks there, on which iron ore and stone chips were loaded. After apprehending these vehicles, the SDO had ordered the District Mining Officer to register an FIR on these vehicles. Despite this, no FIR was registered by the District Mining Officer.

Instead, the District Mining Officer asked the vehicle owners to submit documents for permits, dealer licenses and mining stock.
