Jamshedpur, Oct 12: East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla convened a meeting of the district education department on Saturday. He reviewed various schemes including Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and midday meal scheme. He also sought details on the implementation of these schemes in all the Kasturba Gandhi Girls Residential Schools and Jharkhand Girls Residential Schools of the district. He discussed various issues raised by these schools and gave instructions to the officials concerned regarding their early resolution.
Shukla directed all block education expansion officers (BEEOs) to submit detailed report of students who dropped out of class 5 and 8 by 21st October. He further asked the district superintendent of education (DSE) to identify all dilapidated school buildings in the district and get them demolished.
Shukla directed the education department officials to ensure that students from class 6 up to class 12 attend smart classes at least three days every week. He said a roster should be made for this purpose.
The DC asked the BEEOs to submit a report on the availability of basic civic amenities in all schools of the district by 16th October.
