Jamshedpur: Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi reviewed the implementation of the Chief Minister Smart Gram Yojana during his visit to the Micro Economic Zone in Kantashola village under Dumaria block. He interacted with local women, farmers, and youth, and encouraged them to expand livelihood activities with a focus on economic self-reliance and income generation.
During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner said that the Mukhyamantri Smart Gram Yojana is an important initiative to strengthen the rural economy, enhance self-sufficiency, and generate employment opportunities at the local level. He stressed the need to ensure maximum community participation and to empower villagers through technical training and access to modern resources.
In the Micro Economic Zone of Kantashola, several trained women and farmers have already been engaged in agriculture-based activities such as nurseries, kitchen gardens, solar-powered irrigation, and water conservation. Additionally, small-scale enterprises including hauler and grinding machines, flour and oil mills, sanitary napkin production, animal husbandry, and poultry development have been initiated. Animal vaccination and the construction of warehouses for storage and marketing have also been undertaken as part of the scheme.
Appreciating these efforts, the Deputy Commissioner directed officials to train more women and farmers in small enterprise development and ensure active participation of local youth in technical sectors. He also called for regular evaluation of each activity to maintain effective implementation, transparency, accountability, and consistent support for beneficiaries.
He further added that environmental protection should be a key focus in all ongoing and upcoming activities. Describing Micro Economic Zones as an effective tool for accelerating rural economic development, he said that such initiatives can significantly enhance the economic engagement of local communities, particularly women and small farmers.
The Deputy Commissioner concluded by directing officials to ensure that the implementation of the Mukhyamantri Smart Gram Yojana remains inclusive, effective, and results-oriented so that the state government’s vision of rural growth and self-reliance is achieved at the grassroots level.
