Jamshedpur DC inspects Keenan Stadium, focus on walk-in Covid vaccine facility

Jamshedpur, Sep 10: Buoyed over the overwhelming response to walk-in facilities of vaccination, the administration has decided to provide the same convenience across the rural centres.

In East Singhbhum, a massive vaccination drive is being carried out. A total of 27 centers in urban areas and 64 centers in rural areas are being conducted for both doses of Covishield to all the beneficiaries of 18 years and above.

Senior in-charge vaccination cell – cum- SDO Dhalbhum Sandeep Kumar Meena informed that vaccination of the beneficiaries will be done through walk in mode only in the vaccine centre located at Keenan Stadium in urban area and through both walk in and online slot booking at other centers.  He also informed that very soon all the centers in rural areas will be operated in walk in mode.

He also appealed to the people of the district that those who have not been vaccinated till now due to any reason, they must go to their nearest center and get the Covid vaccine. In view of a possible third wave, it is necessary that more and more people get vaccinated so that everyone can be safe from corona infection.

Meanwhile, Suraj Kumar, deputy commissioner, inspected the Covid-19 vaccination centre set up at Keenan Stadium and took stock of the vaccination work. On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner took information about the status of vaccination. He inquired about the people coming to the vaccination center and instructed the deputed medical team and officials and personnel to give anti-coronavirus vaccine in a systematic manner.

On the occasion, he interacted with the beneficiaries and inquired about the facilities available and tried to know their problems. The beneficiaries expressed satisfaction over all the facilities provided at Keenan Stadium and said that they are not facing any inconvenience in getting the vaccine.

While motivating the beneficiaries who came for vaccination, Kumar advised them not to have any doubts in their mind. He told the beneficiaries present at the center that no person needs to be afraid of the vaccine of Covid-19, this vaccine is completely safe.

Appealing to the residents of the district, he said that vaccination is already being done in walk-in mode in rural areas, while in view of the beneficiaries in urban areas on a large scale, the center at Keenan Stadium is being operated only in walk-in mode. “It is an appeal that those eligible beneficiaries of urban areas who are facing problems in online slot booking should come to Keenan Stadium and get vaccinated in walk-in mode. In view of the possible third wave, it is the effort of the district administration to ensure that the maximum number of district residents is vaccinated so that the district residents are completely safe from corona infection in the third wave,” he said.
