Jamshedpur DC forms team under SDO to prevent land encroachment in Tata lease areas

Jamshedpur, Feb 8: The district administration has expressed concern on continued cases of land grabbing by various religious organizations and constructing structures on vacant land in Tata lease areas. The East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner, Suraj Kumar has taken a step in the direction to curb and stop land encroachment in Tata’s lease areas. A team has been constituted that will be headed by SDO Dhalbhum, Sandeep Meena. The DC has directed the team to take prompt action on cases of land encroachment under Tata lease in Jamshedpur urban area. There is reference in the directive to the Supreme Court’s observation on encroachment.

The order letter mentioned that Jamshedpur city was highly susceptible to religious issues and hysterical about religious structure on encroached lease holdings that created law and order problems to ensure communal harmony.

A team has been constituted under the leadership of the Sub-Divisional Officer, Dhalbhum to take prompt action on issues of encroachment on Tata Lease land in Jamshedpur urban area. It has been directed that the Tata management will keep a constant vigil to ensure that there is no encroachment on the land under their lease area and on noticing encroachments, will inform the team constituted to take prompt action as per related rules. The team constituted under the leadership of the Sub-Divisional Officer, Dhalbhum, has been directed to hold two meetings every month to review all activities.
