Jamshedpur: Deputy Commissioner-cum- District Magistrate Suraj Kumar, DDC Parmeshwar Bhagat, DRDA Director Saurav Kumar Sinha flagged of the Jal Jivan Mission Rath from the Collectorate premises on Saturday. This vehicle will tour rural areas of the district between Oct 3 and Oct 8 as an awareness venture and to motivate villagers to jointly perform resource mapping and chalk out a blueprint to ensure that every house in the rural sectors gets tap water.
DC Suraj Kumar said on the occasion that the Jal Jivan Mission is a joint project of the central and state governments. The awareness drive will be conducted throughout the district of East Singhbhum till Friday, October 15. He said that every household in the village will have tap water connections by 2024 as per the target. �The Jal Jivan Mission is a project for, of and by the people whereby it will be through their active participation that pipelines will be laid for supply of pure drinking water to every home,� stated Suraj Kumar.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that the Mission will be propagated through various modes so that the each and every person is informed of the project. He said that the Jal Jivan Rath was the first step in the awareness drive. Others present on the occasion were Executive Engineer of Jamshedpur Subdivision Abhay Toppo, Adityapur Subdivision�s Jason Horo, SBM-G, Executive and Assistant Engineers of Jamshedpur and Adityapur and other officials.
