Jamshedpur DC drives awareness in online meeting with stakeholders

Jamshedpur: In an online meeting, Deputy Commissioner  Ananya Mittal engaged with various stakeholders, including Self-Help Group (SHG) representatives, Public Distribution System (PDS) dealers, Sevikas, Booth Level Officers (BLOs), Mukhiyas, Sahiyakas, Jal Sahiyas, and operators of Pragya Centers in the district. Deputy Development Commissioner  Manish Kumar was also present during the virtual gathering, where key directives were issued concerning the upcoming Chief Minister State Old Age Pension Scheme Camp and the ongoing Filariasis Eradication Campaign.

Mittal emphasized the importance of spreading awareness to ensure 100% benefit for eligible beneficiaries during the Chief Minister State Old Age Pension Scheme Camp scheduled from 20th to 22nd February. Notably, the scheme has been extended to women aged 50-60 years, as well as individuals belonging to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Scheduled Caste (SC) categories. Panchayat-wise camps will be organized across all blocks from 20/02/2024 to 22/02/2024, preceded by a comprehensive campaign for wide publicity from 14th to 19th February.

The Deputy Commissioner underscored the need for public participation in the ongoing Filariasis Eradication Campaign, urging stakeholders to increase awareness. The campaign, running from February 10 to February 25, aims to distribute DEC and Albendazole medicines to combat filariasis.  Mittal directed Anganwadi workers and health department assistants to ensure the maximum number of people receive the prescribed medicines. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of administering medicines under their supervision.

Mittal urged all stakeholders to collaborate effectively to achieve the goals of the Chief Minister State Old Age Pension Scheme and the Filariasis Eradication Campaign, fostering a collective effort towards community welfare.

Besides, under the Filariasis Eradication Campaign, DEC and Albendazole medicines are being distributed by health workers in all the blocks of the district from February 10 to February 25. Anganwadi workers and health department assistants should ensure that a maximum number of people are given this medicine. Also, whatever medicine is administered to the people, it should be done under their supervision only.
