Jamshedpur: In a comprehensive meeting held at the Collectorate Auditorium in Jamshedpur, Deputy Commissioner, Manjunath Bhajantri, chaired discussions with district-level officers, BDOs, COs, and other officials to review the progress of the Abua Housing Scheme and streamline the distribution of forest pattas. The meeting covered various aspects of the schemes and set deadlines for key activities.
The meeting emphasized the need for a prompt and thorough review of applications under the Abua Housing Scheme, a state-supported initiative aimed at providing three-room accommodations to eligible beneficiaries. Bhajantri highlighted the enthusiasm among the public for the scheme and stressed the importance of timely physical verification of applications received during the ‘Sarkar Aapke Dwar’ program at the Panchayat level camps.
Under the Abua Awas Yojana, houses are to be constructed in a minimum area of 31 square meters, including a clean kitchen. The scheme prioritizes the registration of houses in the name of women in the family. The District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner outlined the exclusion criteria, specifying the categories ineligible for the scheme, and mentioned that the last date for applications is December 26.
Bhajantri expressed the state government’s commitment to providing forest pattas to the landless and urged officials to bring community and individual forest lease distribution into saturation mode. Block officials were directed to ensure efficient land allocation, and the community and individual forest lease distribution work was instructed to be expedited. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the significance of raising awareness and receiving applications during the special Gram Sabha scheduled for December 29.
The meeting concluded with the announcement of key dates and deadlines: Last date for taking applications: December 26 Verification of applications: Until December 31, 2023, Gram Sabha: December 25, 2023, to January 4, 2024, Publication of list and objection period: December 28, 2023, to January 8, 2024, Resolution of objections/errors: January 1, 2024, to January 18, 2024, Publication of permanent waiting list: January 20, 2024, Beneficiary selection and first installment release: January 22, 2024, to January 29, 2024 (for districts with less than one lakh applications)
The meeting was attended by Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar, ADM Law and Order Rajeev Ranjan, Director NEP Mrs. Jyotsna Singh, Special Section Officer Deepu Kumar, District Supply Officer Salman Zafar Khijri, District Public Relations Officer Rohit Kumar, all BDOs and COs, and other concerned officials.
