Jamshedpur DC Ananya Mittal honoured by President Murmu for poll work

 15th National Voters’ Day
Jamshedpur: The 15th National Voters’ Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and solemnity at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, where the President, Droupadi Murmu, graced the occasion as the chief guest. On this significant day, District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal was honored with the prestigious ‘General Category Award’ for the successful conduct of the 2024 Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.
The award recognizes the exceptional efforts made by district administration officials in ensuring free, fair, and transparent elections. Ananya Mittal’s leadership and meticulous planning during the electoral process stood out as exemplary. Under his supervision, the district saw remarkable voter participation, seamless coordination, and effective implementation of election protocols, earning him this coveted recognition.
Addressing the gathering, President Murmu lauded the efforts of the Election Commission of India (ECI) and district administrations across the country. She emphasized the importance of voter participation in strengthening democracy and encouraged citizens, especially the youth, to actively engage in the electoral process.
In his acceptance remarks, Ananya Mittal expressed gratitude for the recognition and credited the achievement to the collective efforts of his team and the cooperation of voters in his district. “This honor is not just mine but belongs to every official and citizen who contributed to making the elections a success,” he said.
The event also witnessed the participation of the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and other senior officials from the Election Commission, along with representatives from various states and districts. Discussions were held on innovative practices implemented in elections, voter awareness campaigns, and the use of technology to enhance electoral processes.
National Voters’ Day, celebrated annually on January 25, marks the foundation day of the Election Commission of India. The day aims to encourage people to exercise their voting rights and highlight the pivotal role of voters in a democracy. This year’s theme, “Nothing Like Voting, I Vote for Sure,” resonated with the overarching goal of increasing voter turnout and inclusivity in elections.
