Jamshedpur: DBMS Kadma to host CBSE Cluster 3 Volleyball Championship

850 players representing 54 teams from Bihar-Jharkhand to participate

Jamshedpur, Dec1: DBMS Kadma High School Farm Area is geared up to host CBSE Cluster 3 (Bihar-Jharkhand) under- 19 Boys and Girls Volleyball Championship. The three-day championship to be inaugurated on December 3 will see participation of 54 teams from schools across Bihar and Jharkhand, said Gurpreet Bhambra, principal, DBMS Kadma High School.

Addressing a press meet in the school premises on Thursday, Gurpreet Bhambra said that 12 teams in girls’ category and 42 in boys’ category will be in attendance.

A total of 850 players will show their strength in the volleyball court, while 120 coaches and managers will also be present. A total of 28 technical officials will conduct the championship. Apart from host DBMS Kadma several CBSE schools from Jamshedpur including St. Mary’s School, Vidya Jyoti Gamharia, CPS Gamharia, Atomic Energy School Jadugoda, Atomic Energy School Narva and Sheyn International School will participate in the competition.

CBSE Volleyball is back after two years. DBMS Kadma last hosted the competition in the year 2015 where it stood third. In the championship held in 2019, team DBMS Kadma stood third. Sports teacher Suprabha informed that the host team will perform better this time.

Principal Gurpreet Bhambra further said that Chief Guest for the inauguration ceremony will be East Singhbhum DC Vijaya Jadhav on December 3.

The students of DBMS Kadma High school will put up a drill display to add colour to the inaugural ceremony. A cultural programme will be put up for the entertainment of participants the same evening from 7:30 pm.

The school has requested international referee Sanjay Gupta to be the chief referee.

There will be a senior level team for dispute resolution called “Jury of Appeal”. Further CBSE has appointed an observer who will report the entire proceedings to CBSE.
