Jamshedpur: Dalma Raja to announce date of Sendra on April 12

Jamshedpur, April 11: The customary head of the tribal population living in the villages at Dalma, also known as Dalma Raja Rakesh Hembram convened a meeting with local villagers at his residence in Gadda on Wednesday to discuss Sendra, a traditional festival. The meeting focused on the forthcoming gathering with Munda, Manki, Dakua, and Majhi Pargana Mahal on April 12. During this meeting, Dalma Raja will announce the date for celebrating Sendra.

Dalma Raja emphasized the importance of discussing Sendra’s date with all stakeholders during the April 12 meeting. Following the decision, traditional rituals will be performed to worship the gods and goddesses, after which the official date for Sendra will be declared. Invitations will be promptly dispatched to Sendra warriors on the same day.

Anticipating the participation of hundreds of Sendra warriors from various locations, Dalma Raja expressed enthusiasm for increased involvement of women in the festival this year. Women will play an active role by continuously monitoring the check posts established by the Forest Department to ensure unimpeded passage for Sendra warriors traveling to Dalma.
