Jamshedpur, Sep 27: Under the joint aegis of Rotary Club of Steel City and Round Table India, a cycle rally ‘Cyclothon’ was organised from Dobo Road to NH 33 to mark the World Environment Health Day.
On the occasion, Rotary Club district governor Pratim Banerjee, cyclist Avtar Singh and Rotarian Alokanda Bakshi jointly flagged off the participants of the Cyclothon.
Starting from Dobo to NH, the participants covered a total distance of 15 kilometers. For the wider cause of environmental protection, the participants were given seed balls which were scattered in the woods along the road while cycling. This will make plants grow and greenery will spread. The seed ball was distributed by the club. Following the Corona guidelines, all the participants were given masks and social distancing was also taken care of during cycling. About 100 participants participated in this event.
Rotary Club of Steel City’s charter president and oldest participant Smita Parikh also cycled 15 kms and encouraged the participants. Jalpa Parikh, president, Rotary Club of Steel City, and Aarush Sabharwal, president, Round Table India, made the event a success with the active contribution of the office bearers and members.
