Jamshedpur, Dec 18: Curtains came down on Loyola School’s gala three-day  Platinum Jubilee celebrations but there was nothing to stop the spirit and conviction of returning soon with another Jubilee. The re-staging of the spectacular ‘Kabuliwallah Returns’ was an apt conclusion to promise the next return of cumulative joy and holler with all the Josh of Loyoleans who never grow old.

Auxiliary Bishop of Jamshedpur, Rev Telesphore Bilung, was the chief guest. Former SSP of the district, Dr M Tamil Vanan’s august presence during the pulsating closing ceremony added to the glitter of a fuzz that will never cease.

The play, it must be mentioned emphatically, was a blend of 500 talents from classes KG, Primary and High School performing in unison in this cultural extravaganza, was undoubtedly an exhibition of children’s creativity that was ground enough to state that children’s creativity and individuality should not be suppressed due to societal pressure.

Principal, the ebullient Fr Pius Frenandes, while offering the vote of thanks, observed, “I thank each and every one of you for your invaluable support through these six exciting and hectic months in preparing for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.” The National Anthem was rendered in the spirit of Loyola built through 75 years of ‘unrelenting joy of learning and living through eternity.’

The conclusion of the Platinum Jubilee fun was the path maker to further such pots of joy to follow. The spirit of Loyola as handed down through 75 years and ‘seasoned’ to last till eternity was showcased to perpetuate the characteristic traits of persistent optimism. Wherever and whenever there is joy, laughter and boisterous camaraderie there has to be the stamp of Loyola tradition that starts and continues with discipline and fraternal feelings.

The final day’s programme commenced with a Standup Comedy at 11 am to orchestrate uninhibited and boisterous laughter for 90 minutes. Of course, ‘Knotty Commander’ has his way of making even the corpse shake its wide-rimmed belly in unstoppable laughter. And today, the alumni were ‘naughty’ young fellows who relish such events and also perform them.  The Fasy Auditorium turned a cauldron of rapturous laughter.

Another item to go into the pages of a diary was the breathtaking performance of the internationally famed Violin Brothers who spelled a web with their classical compositions taking all to an exciting and romantic rendezvous. They proved yet again that their classical creativity has made them trendsetters in their genre of music. On the final day the Violin Brothers provided the elixir to the young ones to remain perpetually young and sing their proud refrain, ‘Loyola—Loyola…’ The echoes have never stopped. Nor will they ever. The farewell hugs of ‘till we meet again’ will reign the atmosphere in the entire Loyola premises. (W/gsd)
