Chaibasa, Jan 6: A CRPF jawan, Amit Kumar Singh, reportedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his AK-47 rifle at CRPF’s Battalion 60 in Arahasa under Goelkera police station area of West Singhbhum. The incident took place around 9.40 pm. Amit, on sentry duty, first fired seven rounds in the air and later shot himself, sources said.
The body of the deceased jawan was sent to the government hospital for postmortem examination. Police and senior CRPF jawans began a probe into the incident this morning.
