Jamshedpur, May 16: Sitaramdera police have arrested a youth who is a native of Rohtas district of Bihar with a pistol and two cartridge from Mango bus stand on Sunday. The youth was residing at Bolaidih in Adityapur and had boarded the bus from Patna with the pistol and cartridge and deboarded at Mango bus stand. Police have also recovered cash of Rs 4100 from his possession.
In his statement before police, the arrested youth has told that Adityapur police had sent him to jail on March 2018 in connection with a theft case and after getting bail in the case he had gone to his native village and then started working in Patna and had purchased the pistol and cartridge from Patna for Rs 30,000 from Digha area of Patna for committing crime in Adityapur. He even informed the name and address of the arm seller to police.
Police suspect him to be involved with a arms supplier group and had sent him on judicial custody. Police will be sending a team to Patna to nab the arm seller too.
