Jamshedpur Crime: Three jailed for purchasing stolen ornaments

Jamshedpur, Sep 2: Telco police here arrested three persons for allegedly purchasing gold ornaments stolen from a company quarter in Kharangajhar. Those arrested were identified as Sanjeev Dutta alias Kanhu Sonar, Badal Dev and Sunil Yadav, said SP City K Vijay Shankar.

According to the SP, “During interrogation, Sunil Yadav confessed that he was involved in the Kharangajhar theft on 23rd July last.”

Police recovered stolen ornaments including a big locket, a small locket, two gold pieces, silver ornament boxes, implements used to break locks, an auto-rickshaw and stolen bed-sheets from the possession of the accused.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Prabhat Kumar had set up a team to detect the Kharangajhar theft.

Sanjeev Dutta, jeweler, was arrested from Chhayanagar a couple of days back. His wife had alleged that police had arrested him without any fault. But police officials insist that he was involved in purchasing ornaments stolen by a racket of house burglars.
