Jamshedpur, Sep 23: In a shocking incident, a 10-year-old girl was raped by her stepfather. Her father also threatened her to remain quite. But when he did the same act for the second and third time, the child could not bear this act of the father. She revealed the actions of the father in front of the mother.
The matter has reached the Sonari police station, where on the complaint of the mother, an FIR was registered against the father of the girl under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses) Act. The girl has been sent to MGM Hospital for medical examination. At present the accused is absconding. Police are trying to arrest him. The accused is addicted to drugs. DSP Kamal Kishore of Headquarters 2 said that a widow living in the area was taken as a wife by a person from the basti. The woman also has a baby girl. Here, the woman took her 10-year-old girl to the Sonari police station along with people associated with the social organization Child Line Welfare Association.
In her statement to the police, the girl said she was raped by her stepfather two days before Raksha Bandhan in August. He threatened to kill her if she told anyone. Out of fear, the girl did not expose the father’s actions.
