Jamshedpur: Police have arrested seven criminals while disclosing the gunshot attack on a youth named Pintu Kumar Yadav near CH Area petrol pump under Bistupur police station on June 4. The seven accused who were caught by the police have accepted their crime and were sent to judicial custody.
SSP Dr M Tamilavanan said that the youths who were caught by the police are Manish Rajhans, Abhishek Kumar Pandey, Gaurav Vishwakarma alias Pagla, Chhotu Kumar, Mohammad Asif, Sunny Hembram and Chandan Pandit.
From them, the police have recovered a double barrel pistol, a country-made pistol, five live cartridges of 7.65 bore, 5 mobiles and a motorcycle. He said that Gaurav Vishwakarma and Shani Hembram have a criminal background. On June 4, near the CH area petrol pump under Bistupur police station, three miscreants on a motorcycle opened fire with the intention of attacking a youth named Pintu Kumar Yadav in broad daylight. However, Pintu Yadav narrowly escaped in that incident. After which the police were continuously engaged in raids to nab the criminals.
The assailants had moved away towards Sonari, triggering sensation in the posh locality. The victim who is a resident of Sonari Gwala Bustee subsequently went to the Bistupur police station and informed the police about the attack.
