Jamshedpur, Feb 12: Police arrested eight persons in connection with the incident of firing between two group of youths at Sidho Kanhu ground in Bagbera here on Saturday.
Those arrested were identified as Kanhaiya Singh, Jyoti Prakash Singh, Sunil Kumar Paswan, Bunty Singh alias Polu, Vijay Singh alias Monu, Sikandar, Ronny and Kishan Sao.

SP City Subhash Chandra Jat said the accused persons had fired on each other following a land dispute. He said the disputed land, situated in Bagbera, was in the name of one Sheela Singh. Kanhaiya Singh, accused in the case and reportedly a member of Akhilesh Singh gang, wanted to purchase that land as he was eyeing the property. In order to get the land, Kanhaiyha was putting pressure on Sheela Devi to give in writing that she was not the owner of the land. The land dispute is an old one, he said.
Sources said Kanhaiya Singh had reportedly gone to the shootout scene late night on 10th February last to discuss the land issue with the members of the rival group. Soon a heated debate started between the two sides. Kanhaiya allegedly fired twice while Monu fired 10 rounds, cops said.

Cops recovered pellets from the scene. Later they seized a pistol from Monu’s house and also seized two pistols from the house of Kanhaiya Singh.
Sheela Devi has accused Kanhaiya Singh, Amit Kumar alias Ram Babu, Ankit Kumar Sharma, Bunty Singh, Jyoti Prakash, Sonu Singh and seven others of firing and threatening her. Kanhaiya Singh also accused Monu Singh, Pintu Prasad, Bunty Prasad, Sikandar Prasad, Virendra Prasad and Ronit Kumar of firing at him.
Police said they were searching for the other culprits.
