Jamshedpur, June 4: In a broad daylight incident, a youth escaped unhurt as criminals launched a gun-shot attack at posh Circuit House Area in Bistupur. The firing at Circuit House Area took place at about 11 am on Friday.
In the incident at CH Area, a 26-year-old youth, Pintu Yadav, who was riding from the Sonari-Bistupur Road in the morning, four bike-borne youth stopped him near Circuit House petrol pump and one of them fired a shot at the victim. Fortunately, the shot missed the target though it was fired from close range.
The assailants move away towards Sonari, triggering sensation in the posh locality. The victim who is a resident of Sonari Gwala Bustee subsequently went to the Bistupur police station and informed the police about the attack.
Pintu who has a criminal record and had returned from Ghaghidih Central Jail on Thursday only has in a statement given to the police named one Bablu Lohar to have opened fire.
Soon after the incident, a police party led by Bistupur police station OC, Vishnu Raut rushed to the spot and started investigation.
” It is too early to comment. The firing incident took place near the Circuit House petrol pump. We have recovered an empty cartridge from the place of occurrence, ” said Raut.
The Bistupur police station OC said the gun-shot attack appeared to have been launched in sequel to an old enmity.
The police are scanning the CCTV footage for the identification of the attackers.
