Jamshedpur, May 11: Unidentified thieves took away cash and valuables from the house of a Tinplate employee, Ashish Kumar Choudhary, at Banas Road under Golmuri police station area, police said.
According to police, the thieves committed the theft in quarter no 7A as there was no one in the house. Choudhary had gone to his native place with his family. The thieves laid their hands on every valuable item they could get. After stealing the valuables, the thieves also took away a motorcycle parked inside.
When Choudhary returned home with his family members this morning, he found the locks at the main entrance gate broken and the doors inside open. On going inside, he saw the valuables and cash missing from the safe. The bike was also missing, prompting Choudhary to inform police about the incident.
Choudhary said the thieves took away a TV, one gold chain, one ring and Rs 5000 cash. The total worth of the stolen items is Rs 2 lakh, he told cops.
