Jamshedpur Crane driver burnt critically in factory

Jamshedpur, May 8: A crane driver, identified as Darshan Singh, was burnt after coming in contact with a high-tension wire at Chanduka Minerals and Chemicals Private Limited plant in Phase IV, Gamharia, on Saturday. He was taken to Tata Main Hospital where his condition was reportedly critical, police said.

Adityapur police officials reached the company on getting information about the mishap from on duty cops at Tata Main Hospital police post. They inquired about the incident and were told that the Darshan Singh was loading a newly constructed material on a truck with the help of the crane on Saturday. Just then the upper part of the crane came in direct contact with an overhead high-voltage wire passing through the company. Darshan was critically burnt due to the sudden electric shock. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.  

Police officials said the crane operator was not wearing safety equipments on duty.
