City records 392 new infections, 629 recoveries, 12 deaths
Jamshedpur, May 17: The positivity rate of Covid-19 cases in Jamshedpur has fallen further to around 5.52 per cent after East Singhbhum conducted over 7500 tests in the last 24 hours. The Steel City tested 7564 samples, of which, 392 turned out positive while 629 people recovered from the Covid-19 on Monday, May 17.
Meanwhile, 12 deaths were recorded in the same duration. The continuous high number of tests have pushed the positivity rate further down to 5.52 per cent, the government data showed.
The recovery rate has climbed to 89.50 % while the active cases have come down to 4340.
Jamshedpur continues to witness dip in the daily Covid-19 cases.
629 positive people recovered of the virus on Monday pushing the recovery mark to 41584.
Deaths due to the virus continue to be sign of worry as 12 people succumbed due to Covid on Monday, May 17, East Singhbhum Covid bulletin said.
City reported 12 deaths on Monday while district’s positive cases tally has mounted to 46856. According to the data provided by the East Singhbhum district health department on Monday 12 fatalities were due to the Covid-19 infection in the last 24 hours. The death toll has climbed to 932.
East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 318705 test per million in the district. Mango locality of Steel City recorded 73 fresh cases.
As per the records of health department out of 7564 people who underwent Covid tests in East Singhbhum 392 were found positive.
Over 7500 COVID-19 tests, including 3204 RT-PCR and 3963 RAT were conducted in the last 24 hours in the city.
The recovery rate in Jamshedpur is 89.50% while the mortality rate is 1.99%.
So far in Jamshedpur 855598 amples have been collected out of which 848393 have been tested and 801537 have turned out to be negative.
