Jamshedpur, August 17: Abhijit Singh, the former president of Jugsalai Block Congress, has accused Sunny Singh Sardar, Mohit Pandey of Jugsalai Pandey Mohalla, Rocky Mishra of Baghbeda, and Golu Pai, along with several unidentified individuals, of being involved in a shooting incident on Jugsalai Post Office Road. The attack occurred on Friday while Abhijit was organizing a Bhandara for the Shravan month near his transport office. During the event, the group reportedly arrived in a white car and, using bikes, scooters, and on foot, indiscriminately fired upon those distributing prasad, injuring two of Abhijit’s supporters with pellet shots.

Abhijit Singh, who claims no prior enmity with the accused, detailed an earlier altercation on August 15. On that day, his scooter was struck by a car near Jugsalai Kunwar Singh Chowk. When Abhijit attempted to confront the occupants of the car near Pradeep Mishra Chowk on Station Road, they reportedly collided with his car and fled towards Burmamines. Abhijit noted the word ‘Brahmin’ on the car’s rear window and recorded its number. He subsequently filed a complaint at Jugsalai police station.

The attacker’s alleged motives remain unclear, but Abhijit’s account suggests that the earlier incident might have contributed to the violence. Police are investigating the matter further, including the possible connections between the earlier confrontation and the shooting.
