Jamshedpur Congress Demands FIR Against Assam CM

Jamshedpur: Political tensions escalated today as leaders of the East Singhbhum District Congress Committee converged at the Sakchi Police Station. The delegation demanded a formal FIR against Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for allegedly making derogatory remarks against a senior Congress leader.

District President Parvinder Singh led the delegation and submitted a formal complaint, urging authorities to initiate immediate legal action. Singh characterized the remarks as “undignified and unacceptable,” arguing that such statements from a constitutional office-holder undermine democratic values and political decorum.

Allegations of Recurring Misconduct

Executive President Awadhesh Kumar Singh alleged that BJP leaders repeatedly use offensive language against opposition figures. He stressed that the legal system must act strictly to curb such conduct and maintain political standards.

Police Response and Potential Escalation

Police officials confirmed they received the complaint and stated they would examine the matter according to legal provisions. However, Congress leaders issued a warning: if authorities fail to take action, the party will intensify its protests across the region in the coming days.
