Jamshedpur: The Congress party, on the call given by state president Dr Rameshwar Oraon, executive president Keshav Mahto Kamlesh and Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta today organized a silent satyagrah throughout the state against the rough treatment meted out to the former party president Rahul Gandhi and the partys all India general secretary and UP in-charge Priyanka Gandhi by the Uttar Pradesh police and administration.

The East Singhbhum district Congress committee today organized a silent dharna at the Sakchi roundabout with placards mentioning their support for the daughters safety and describing Rahul Gandhi as a tornado. Leading the dharna, the Congress district committee president Vijay Khan accused Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of playing a suspicious role in the unfortunate and shameful Hathras incident where a young girl was gang raped, tortured and murdered. Khan said, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath clearly attempted to create obstacles in providing justice to the girl and her family. The administrative officers are continuing to threaten the family members of the girl. This is absolutely against all democratic norms.

Congress zonal coordinator Ashok Chowdhary said, Narendra Modi and Yogi Adityanaths BJP governments are trying to suppress peoples voice with batons and bullets. The entire country is up in arms against the perpetrators of the heinous Hathras crime and is demanding their death by hanging. It will be impossible for them to suppress this movement. Chowdhary said that preventing Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi from meeting the victims family and providing justice for the members is a reflection of the suppressive attitude of the BJP and blatant exhibition of throttling democratic norms.

Those present during the silent satyagrah were Reyazuddin Khan, Ravindra Kumar Jha alias Nattu Jha, Yogendra Singh Yadav, Hrishi Mishra, Jasai Mardi, Rakesh Sahu, Surendra Sharma, Prince Singh, Brajendra Tiwary, Sanjay Singh Azad, Rahul Goswami, Navin Mishra, Niraj Singh, Dr Paritosh Singh, Subodh Singh Sardar, Vinod Rajak, Sanjay Prasad, Rajesh Kumar, Usha Singh, Aparna Guha, Purabi Dutta, Sushila Pandey, Parvati Sharma, Gita Singh, Rita Gupta, Rita Sharma and many other Congress members.
