Jamshedpur Communal Violence: Three youth arrested for posting objectionable posts in WhatsApp group

Jamshedpur,April 13: Three youths were arrested by the local police for allegedly posting objectionable content in a WhatsApp group. The incident has caused widespread outrage among the local community.

The police have found that group admin of group Dhatkidih Harijan Basti’s Subroto Mukhi and two others Rishabh Mukhi (19) and Kadma resident Ankit Mukhi (20) were spreading religious frenzy. The members were taken into custody for questioning.

After confiscating the mobile phones belonging to the above mentioned WhatsApp group they will be sent to jail.

According to sources, the suspects were part of a WhatsApp group that consisted of members from the same locality. The group was allegedly being used to spread derogatory and inflammatory content against a particular community, which led to tension and unrest in the area.

The police took swift action after receiving complaints from members of the targeted community about the objectionable posts. The suspects were arrested under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including those related to promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, etc.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the suspects had been posting hate speech and incendiary messages in the WhatsApp group for some time. The police also seized their mobile phones and other electronic devices for further forensic examination.

The incident has sparked debates about the misuse of social media platforms and the need for stricter regulations to prevent the spread of hate speech and misinformation.
