Jamshedpur: CII-YI’s Young Indians Parliament inspires youth

Jamshedpur: The city-level round of the Young Indians Parliament (YIP), an innovative initiative aimed at inspiring the next generation of leaders, commenced today in Jamshedpur with vibrant participation and spirited discussions. Organised by Young Indians (Yi) Jamshedpur, the two-day event seeks to cultivate leadership qualities among the youth, strengthen democratic values, and raise political awareness through experiential learning.

On the first day, more than 100 students from various schools across the city gathered to immerse themselves in a realistic simulation of the Indian Parliament. During the mock session, participants assumed the roles of the Prime Minister, Leader of Opposition, Speaker, and key ministers, debating national issues, introducing bills, and meticulously following parliamentary procedures. The engaging format allowed students to experience the intricacies of policy-making and governance firsthand.

Vijay Anand Moonka, President of the Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry, attended as the Chief Guest. In his address, he motivated the young participants to grow into active, responsible citizens dedicated to the nation’s progress.

The programme also saw the presence of several distinguished guests, including Krishna Kharia, Past Chair, Yi Jamshedpur; Kaushik Modi, Chair, Yi Jamshedpur; Shruti Jhunjhunwala, Co-Chair, Yi Jamshedpur; Harsh Agarwal, Chair, Thalir Young Indians; and Rachna Nair, Director (Academics), Kerala Public School, Burma Mines.

The day’s activities were seamlessly managed by Bijal Mehta and Rishi Arora, ensuring a well-coordinated and enriching experience for all participants.

Young Indians, an integral part of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), has designed this unique platform to connect youth with the spirit of democracy and empower them with knowledge about policy-making and governance.
