Jamshedpur: Thirteen-year-old chess player of Loyola School, Adhiraj Mitra delivered an outstanding performance at the National School Chess Championship (Under-15), securing second place in the highly competitive tournament held in Guwahati from December 27 to December 31.
Adhiraj remained unbeaten throughout the championship and finished with an impressive score of 7.5 points. His consistent and confident play earned him a podium finish among 152 participants who competed from various parts of the country.

The National School Chess Championship is one of the most significant platforms for young chess talent in India, serving as a selection tournament for the prestigious Asian School Chess Championship and World School Chess Championship.
Adhiraj’s remarkable achievement at such a young age reflects his dedication, discipline and growing mastery of the game, marking him as a promising talent on the national chess circuit.
