DAV Kathara boys bag title
Jamshedpur, Dec 5: CBSE Cluster III Under-19 Boys and Girls Volleyball Championship hosted by DBMS Kadma High School concluded on Monday. The final match in both the category was played on Monday. It was a spectacular display of sportive talent and team work of the participating players.
In the boys’ category DAV Kathara bagged the winners title defeating St Stephen’s School Hazaribagh. DAV NIT Adityapur and Holy Cross Ghato were declared joint second runners-up. Priyan Kumar Singh of DAV Kathara was declared the best player.
Atomic Energy Central School, Jadugura girls were declared the winners beating DAV Swang in the final.
St Stephen’s High School Hazaribagh and Guru Gobind Public School Bokaro were joint third. Mansi Oraon of Atomic Energy Jadugura won the best player award.
Chief Guest for the closing ceremony was Sukhpal Singh (National Volleyball Player) and the Guest of Honour was Biswanath Sarangi (Proprietor Udayan HR Consultant). Chief Guest awarded the winners and said that winning and losing are all part and parcel of games and that the players should accept both gracefully.
A token of appreciation was given to Dhanranjan Sharma (CBSE Observer) and RP Sinha (CBSE Technical Delegate).
The program was also graced by B Chandrashekhar (Chairperson, Finance) DBMS Board of Trustees, Lalitha Chandrashekhar (Chairperson, Administration and President), members of the Managing Committee Gurpreet Bhambra (Principal), S Shireen (Vice Principal), Suprava Panda (Sports Co-ordinator) and the games teachers left no stones unturned to make the Championship a grand success.
