Jamshedpur: CBSE asks schools to tie-up with health centres

Jamshedpur, Sept 7: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued new guidelines for the safety of girl students in its boarding schools.

In this, these schools have been asked to increase medical facilities. It has been said in the new guidelines that in residential schools, there should be arrangements for ambulance, oxygen cylinder, medical store, beds, an isolation ward for the treatment of students in case of emergency.

If such arrangements are not available in these residential schools, instructions have been given to tie-up with hospitals. In this regard, the board has said that keeping these standards in mind, residential schools have to tie-up with big hospitals.

Apart from this, trained staff having experience in first aid and crisis management have to be appointed in the school.

Incidentally, earlier also the board had given instructions to have medical facilities in residential schools, but due to lack of ambulance etc. in the school, the school will have to tie-up with the hospital.

With this, in case of emergency, the students studying in the residential school can be taken to the concerned hospital for proper treatment.
