Jamshedpur Builder absconds after cheating people of massive amounts

Jamshedpur, Nov 15: Proprietor of Unity Builder Sanjay Gupta, located next to Chandi Baba Mandir on Bhatia Basti Main Road under Kadma police station area, has absconded by duping the customers by making false promises of flats.

The builder has sold the same flat to several people on the basis of fraud agreements. The customers were getting confused with each other for the same flat and after which the matter reached the police station.

The builder has also cheated Rs 1.20 crore in the name of giving three flats to Santosh Singh, a representative of former Chief Minister Madhu Koda, resident of Parsudih. Along with this, a three-bedroom flat was sold to Harendra Nath Mukherjee, a retired Kadma resident from Tata Steel, for Rs 35 lakh. Along with this, he also took five lakh rupees as an advance from a person named Sanjay Sawai in the name of giving a shop under the flat under construction, but till date he did not get the shop.

The police have registered a case of forgery against builder Sanjay Gupta at the Kadma police station on the orders of the court. The investigating officer is ASI Rajkumar of the police station. The builder absconded as soon as the case was registered.

On the other hand, goods were being shifted by the victim Santosh Singh in flat number C/3 of the three-floor under construction building on Sunday. When Harendra Nath Mukherjee, who had bought that flat in the agreement in advance, reached the spot with the whole family and strongly opposed it. The matter was reported to the concerned police station. On getting information, the police reached the spot and sealed the disputed flat C/3 by locking it from outside. After which both the parties reached the Kadma police station and also made a written complaint against each other in the matter. 

On the other hand, Kadma police station in-charge Manoj Thakur said that the same flat has been sold by the builder to two people. Because of this, there is a dispute between the two parties. At present, the flat has been sealed and sent to the SDO court after taking action under sections 107 and 144 for settlement of the matter.
