Jamshedpur: Blast at Amalgam Steel Company’s SMS Unit

Gamharia, June 16: Chaos ensued at the Kandra-based Amalgam Steel Power Limited Company in the early hours of Friday when an explosion occurred in the SMS (Steel Melting Shop) unit. Following the incident, the company management promptly imposed a ban on movement at the accident site, restricting the access of laborers. While the management has confirmed the incident, they have denied reports of any injuries.

The company management has chosen to maintain secrecy regarding the matter, refraining from providing detailed information. However, sources indicate that some laborers have indeed sustained injuries during the accident. One of the injured individuals, AK Singh, a supervisor from Ichagarh, reportedly suffered injuries while attempting to escape. Nevertheless, the management has not yet provided clear information on this matter. The company’s security personnel have also declined to comment, remaining tight-lipped about the incident. According to sources, approximately four to five laborers sustained minor injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment. The occurrence of this accident within the company premises has raised concerns regarding the safety standards implemented by the company.(
