Jamshedpur: Police arrested two persons for allegedly demanding extortion money of Rs 5 crore from a New Delhi-based businessman on Monday.
Those arrested were identified as Aman Kumar Tiwary and Aman Kumar Jha. They were arrested from Post Office Road, Kitadih, under Parsudih police station area.
Police said Jha had allegedly sought Rs 5 crore as extortion money from the businessman over phone. Jha, a resident of Inder Enclave, Phase 2, Suleman Nagar, New Delhi, used the SIM card of his wife�s brother, Aman Kumar Tiwary. The businessman lodged a police complaint after getting the threat call. Based on his complaint, a team of New Delhi police raided the residence of the accused in Kitadih and arrested them.
Binod Kumar Tiwary, father of Aman Kumar Tiwary, and a local BJP leader, said his son was not in good mental condition.
